Iraq is "seeking" help to develop oil, BBC reports

I saw this on the BBC website and I had to friggin laugh - Iraq "seeking" help to develop their oil, huh! And guess who is going to run for the rescue.. Halliburton will probably be on top of the list!

According to the report, the so-called Iraqi government is very interesetd in producing more oil but there is a slight problem, they are unable to do so because billions of dollars are needed to modernize the infrastructure. Again, here come the usual suspects to the rescue. Of course, the money needed to upgrade the infrastructure will be paid for by the Iraqis in the form of debt meaning that Iraq will probably owe the US free oil for another 100 years.

Isn't it obvious? This is one last effort to ensure that US companies who are making billions of dollars off of the war in Iraq continue to make billions more, even after the US administration changes in November. This will also guarantee a US presence in Iraq for at least another decade or so. The American public cannot be too thrilled to hear this. We have already learned that even with Suadi Arabia pumping more oil, and with the Iraqi oil production at its highest since the US invasion - gas prices have continued to sky-rocket so this is just another lie in order for US companies to gain more control over Iraqi oil.
